In 2007, Four Corners Research was awarded a contract with the New Mexico Department of Transportation for Statewide Cultural Resource Services. Thus far, this contract has resulted in the completion of the NM Highway 3 project along the Pecos River through the communities of San Miguel del Vado, El Pueblo, and Ribera, the documentation of the New Mexico Department of Transportation General Office Complex and multiple property nomination for State of New Mexico buildings designed by W. C. Kruger, and data recovery at three sites along US 64 between Chama and Dulce.
Also in 2007, Four Corners Research teamed with Statistical Research, Inc., and Miratek on the 5-year IDIQ Fort Bliss Cultural Resource Services contract. In providing Statistical Research with support in field and reporting efforts, Four Corners has remained involved in TRU surveys, evaluation testing, and data recovery task orders. The discovery of a prehistoric reservoir on the east side of the Doña Ana Mountains has been especially intriguing.
In 2008, Four Corners Research was awarded a 5-year IDIQ contract with the Lincoln and Gila National Forests for cultural resources services. The first task order included evaluation and recording of logging railroads and associated sites in the Sacramento Mountains for the Lincoln National Forest. In addition to evaluating nearly 60 miles of railroad beds, the project recorded and updated trestles, log chutes, dugouts, camps, and industrial sites. On-going on the Gila National Forest is the survey of over 100 miles of Level 2 Forest System Roads on the Glenwood, Reserve, Quemado, Black Range, and Wilderness Ranger Districts.
Also in 2008, Four Corners Research was awarded a 5 year IDIQ contract with Region 3 of the USDA Forest Service. Task orders have included the survey of the Gallinas Wildland Urban Interface Phase III project on the Pecos/Las Vegas Resource Area and the Chaparral Wildland Urban Interface project on the Cuba and Jemez Ranger Districts. A third task order, the Barrillas Plantation survey, will begin April, 2009, on the Pecos/Las Vegas Resource Area.
This Spring, Four Corners Research will also begin survey of Level 2 Forest System Roads for the Carson National Forest on the Canjilon, Camino Real, and El Rito Ranger Districts under contract with the Carson National Forest.
